Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) ECA is the spoken language of Cairo and is widely understood throughout the Arab world. Knowledge of ECA will enable you accomplish everyday tasks; to chat with Egyptians and even allows you to exchange opinions on current affairs with native speakers. The course also introduces you to the Arabic script and gives you the basics of Arabic language study.
Modern standard Arabic (MSA) MSA is the written Arabic language in its classical form. It is used in newspapers and also widely heard on the Radio and TV. Knowledge of MSA will enable you to become well acquainted with contemporary situations in the Middle East and North Africa as well as serving introduction to the enormous wealth of classical Arabic literature. Business Arabic This course is intended for people who really need to learn Arabic to help make that difference in their work. For beginners, it will be useful to learn greetings and basic business etiquette at higher levels reading and then writing become more important. Typical learners include those involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, jobseekers in multinational firms where an additional language is required, and those working with international colleagues, academia and government. Even on the most basic program for Beginners, learners should expect to end the program with basic Telephone Arabic and e-mail Arabic skills for communications as well as General Arabic required for short visits to Arabic speaking countries. Arabic for Special Purposes (ASP) ASP learners are usually adults who already have some acquaintance with Arabic and are studying the language in order to communicate a set of professional skills and to perform particular job-related functions. An ASP course is therefore built on an assessment of purposes and needs for which Arabic is required. ASP focuses more on language in context than on teaching grammar and language structures.
